Lemonade Colon Cleansing & Body Detoxification
Lemon is one of the most popular ingredient used in colon cleanse recipes. Lemons are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, phosphorous, calcium etc which makes it a good cleansing agent. The lemonade diet was developed by Stanley Burroughs during the early 1950’s. Burroughs stated that lemonade were used to treat stomach ulcers and he also pointed out that the use of lemonade diet for an extended period can alleviate medical conditions like allergies.
The lemonade diet which is also known as the master cleanse is designed to detox the body and push the excess waste out of the colon. This diet when used in conjunction with daily salt water flush or other laxative can help in cleansing the colon. There are different recommendations on how to use lemonade for colon cleansing, but the recipes are essentially same in most cases. Even though there are no medical evidences supporting this diet, it remains a popular method for cleansing the colon.
The basic recipe for lemonade diet for colon cleansing is given below;
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Filtered water – 10 – 14 oz
Red cayenne pepper – 1 small pinch
Organic maple syrup – 2 tbsp, grade B or C (the darker the better)
Mix all the ingredients by thoroughly stirring and shaking it.
Drink 8 to 10 glasses of this mixture daily. Don’t mix up the recipe for the whole day. Make fresh lemonade just before drinking. Each ingredients used in this recipe has certain special functions. The lemon juice helps in flushing out poison from the body. It also contains essential minerals and nutrients which are very much needed for cleansing your colon. The filtered water hydrates the body, as well as flushes out the excess poison from the colon. The red cayenne pepper is a powerful detoxification agent and it adds taste to the lemonade. Maple syrup has some natural detox benefits as well as it is used to sweeten the recipe. Grade B maple syrup is more recommended.
Salt water flush:
Mix 2 teaspoons of iodine free sea salt with 1 quart of Luke warm water. Shake it well and drink the entire salt water. The lemonade diet works best when used with salt water flush to cleanse the colon. This oral enema will help you to flush out the plaque, debris and the parasites from the walls of your digestive tract and colon from top to bottom. It starts working within an hour, prompting you to eliminate several times. According to the master cleanse site, you cannot eliminate the wastes and toxins you are carrying around in your colon unless you have a salt water flush which helps in stimulating the colon to empty itself. Make sure that you are using uniodized sea salt for the salt water flush. Iodized sea salt may not have the same beneficial effects.
Drink the lemonade drink in every 1 to 2 hours. You can drink as much of this lemonade as you want. But make sure to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of this drink daily. Take no other food and make sure to drink plenty of pure water in addition to the lemonade drink. The lemonade colon cleansing diet may last from 1 or more days.
The lemonade diet poses some health risks which increases the longer you stay on the diet. Using this diet will increase the risk of diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems like nausea and vomiting. If you are using stimulant laxatives to empty your bowel for a long time, it’s more likely for your body to become dependent on them to get a bowel movement. If you are having diabetes or hypoglycemia, then this type of colon cleanse may be harmful to your health. The chance of getting dehydrated is high in lemonade colon cleansing. Finally, there is no scientific evidence to prove that the body eliminates toxins through the lemonade diet and salt water flush more effectively than the body does it naturally. It will be better to consult a doctor and seek his advice before going for any type of colon cleansing.
